When history becomes the setting, floral design has to become part of the architecture.
For this exclusive event in Barcelona, Savia Bruta was commissioned by Nuart Events to create a bespoke floral concept for La Llotja de Mar, one of the city’s most remarkable historic venues.
The brief was not simply to add flowers to the space. It was to create an atmosphere that could stand alongside the extraordinary architecture of La Llotja de Mar without competing with it.
The result was a dramatic floral installation built around deep burgundy, crimson and red tones, complemented by rich foliage, grasses, delicate textures and sculptural botanical elements.
A floral concept inspired by the space
The monumental scale of La Llotja de Mar immediately became part of the creative direction.
Rather than treating the venue as a blank canvas, Savia Bruta designed the floral decoration to respond to its architecture — following the rhythm of its columns, arches and expansive interiors while creating a contemporary visual language.
Long dining tables were framed with abundant botanical arrangements, while individual floral compositions introduced height, movement and colour throughout the room.
Anthuriums, roses, hydrangeas, orchids and carnations were combined with grasses and textural foliage to create an intentionally rich and immersive palette.
The result was a floral environment that changed character as the lighting evolved throughout the evening.
From intimate details to monumental installations
One of the defining elements of the project was the contrast between scale and detail.
At the tables, delicate floral compositions were combined with slender candles and transparent glass vessels, creating an intimate atmosphere for the guests.
Elsewhere, larger installations brought the floral concept into the architecture itself.
Sculptural red and burgundy arrangements framed entrances and hospitality areas, while generous botanical installations surrounded the central stage and created a strong visual connection between the different areas of the event.
The flowers became part of the scenography rather than simply an accessory.
The creative vision of Lindsey Myhren
Under the creative direction of Lindsey Myhren, Savia Bruta approached the project as an exercise in floral storytelling.
For Lindsey, luxury floral design is about much more than selecting beautiful flowers. It is about understanding the architecture, the lighting, the atmosphere and the identity of an event — and bringing all of those elements together through flowers.
Based in Madrid and working throughout Spain and Europe, Savia Bruta specialises in luxury floral design for destination weddings, corporate events and exclusive celebrations.
Each project is individually conceived to transform a space while respecting its character and creating an unforgettable experience for guests.
A Barcelona event shaped by colour, architecture and flowers
At La Llotja de Mar, the combination of historic architecture, dramatic lighting and an intense floral palette created an atmosphere that evolved throughout the evening.
From the first impression at the entrance to the smallest details on the dining tables, every floral element was designed to belong to the same visual story.
A celebration of Barcelona, architecture and contemporary floral artistry.
